
Geelong Writers Inc. invites writers to submit to our 2026 General Anthology.
This year, the anthology includes three categories:

- Fiction (to 1,500 words)
- Non-fiction (to 1,500 words)
- Poetry (to 30 lines)
There is no theme.
Writers can submit one entry per category.
Submissions open on 1st July and close on 30th August.
Submission Guidelines

- Entry is free for Geelong Writers members. Become a member here.
- There is a $15 entry fee per submission per category for non-members. Payment can be made via Trybooking.
- Submissions are restricted to one piece per genre, per author.
- All submissions must use Times New Roman font.
- All submissions must use 12-point font size.
- Double spacing (exceptions with concrete poetry).
- Pages must be numbered.
- Our house style is Australian Standard: singular quotations and Australian spelling.
- Your name should not appear anywhere on your work.
- Submit work via our form as a Word document (.doc or .docx format).
- Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but you must inform us if a piece is accepted elsewhere.
- No previously published work allowed (personal blog and social media posts excepted).
The anthology will be launched at our Festive Season Celebration in December. A date and venue will be advised later in the year.
